390 XLA Gelcoats: are based on a very high performance ISO-Dicyclo resin especially formulated to cope with Australian / NZ Climatic conditions, particularly the high intensity U.V. radiation.

XLA Iso-Dicyclo gelcoats are pigmented polyester resin mixtures, which can be sprayed onto a mould surface prior to the moulding or laminating operation. Red Tooling Gelcoat: is a new generation tooling gelcoat specifically formulated for use in the production of fibreglass reinforced polyester moulds. This gelcoat is designed for use on tools, moulds and masters, where the properties of a high strength film, resistant to crazing, and capable of holding a high gloss is desired.

The Red Tooling gelcoat, when applied correctly, will produce a hard resilient film free of air bubbles. This is highly desirable as it allows resurfacing of the mould with wet and dry abrasive paper without causing pinholes to appear on the surface. This tooling gelcoat has a high heat distortion temperature and is able to withstand repeated exposure to exothermic temperatures developed during the moulding process. More (Valspar pdf datasheet)
