This product is comprised of three components: -
(A) A filler paste based on unsaturated
polyester resin in styrene
(B) A benzoyl peroxide based initiator
(C) A Non-Toxic Pigment dispersion.
Hazard and Safety aspects are identified separately under (A) (B) or (C) where necessary.

SECTION THREE - PHYSICAL DATA
(A) Appearance: Buff coloured paste.
Odour: Sweet / sharp aromatic odour of styrene
Boiling Point (Styrene) : 145ºC Percent Volatiles : 14-18
Specific Gravity : 0.7-0.9 Water Miscibility : Immiscible
(B) Appearance: Red paste.  
Odour: Slight ester odour .  
Specific Gravity (25C): 1.2 Water Miscibility : Immiscible
(C) Appearance: Red, yellow or brown pastes  
Specific Gravity: 2.5 to 3.5  
SECTION FOUR - FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD
(A) Will Burn slowly when heated. Emits styrene vapour.
Flammable Limits: - LEL 1.1%
  UEL 6.1%
Flash Point: - 31°C (Setaflash)
(B) and (C) No flash point. No vapour pressure  
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA. Foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, water fog.

(B) Fire hazard increases if allowed to dry. Oxygen for combustion partly supplied by the peroxide itself.

SECTION FIVE - HEALTH HAZARD DATA
LD 50 Oral Rat > 5000mg / kg for both components of this Polyester Resin Kit.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID PROCEDURES.

(A) Ingestion : Do not induce vomiting. Aspiration of material into the lungs could cause pneumonitis which can be fatal. Give milk or water. Seek medical attention.

(B) Ingestion : Seek medical attention. If more than 15 minutes from a hospital induce vomiting preferably using ipecac syrup APF. Otherwise do not induce vomiting, give sips of water preferably with charcoal tablets. Take affected person to hospital

Inhalation of Vapour: Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration or give oxygen if necessary.
Eye Contact: Flush with copious amounts of water - lift eyelids repeatedly. Seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use.
Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically.
SECTION SIX - REACTIVITY DATA
(A) STABILITY
Unstable ,Will polymerise to a hard solid under unfavourable conditions.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID : Exposure to sunlight, open flames, contamination, prolonged storage above 27°C. Elevated temperatures, improper contact with peroxides or other contaminants.
MATERIALS TO AVOID: Strong acids, peroxides, other oxidising agents.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID :Exposure to sunlight, open flames, elevated temperatures and drying conditions.
MATERIALS TO AVOID: Reducing agents, promotors eg. dimethyl aniline, cobalt naphthenate, hot materials.

SECTION SEVEN - SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
Steps to be taken if the material is released or spilled.
Ventilate area. Prevent contamination of stormwater drains.
Waste disposal method. Portions (A) & (B) & (C) may be mixed together and allowed to gel before disposal as solid waste in accordance with appropriate regulations.
SECTION EIGHT - SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Respiratory protection. Use with adequate ventilation. If necessary use canister mask (organic vapour filter ) or approved air-line mask.
Ventilation. General dilution or local exhaust to maintain vapour concentration below TLV.
Protective Gloves. PVC type
Eye Protection. Safety spectacles.
Other Protective Equipment. Normal work clothing giving arm and leg cover.
SECTION NINE - SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Precautions to be taken in handling and storage.
When handling keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in well ventilated areas.
